Physiological blood flow affects several biological processes including, cell adhesion, rolling, migration, plaque formation, wound healing, etc. Bioflux provides a physiologically-relevant in vitro tool for studying these processes under controlled arterial or venous shear conditions. Dr. Dayal’s laboratory has recently acquired a Bioflux microfluidic flow chamber system (A & B) to measure platelet accumulation (C) on collagen or other matrix under venous or arterial shear stress conditions. The methods can be optimized to study other cellular phenotypes.
